Captain Planet Foundation Grants

The Captain Planet Foundation awards grants in the amount of $250 - $2,500. The Foundation's objective is to encourage innovative programs that empower children and youth to work individually and collectively to solve environmental problems in their neighborhoods and communities. The application process (a short online form) and more details are on the website. Deadlines: March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.

The Community Foundation of Louisville: Community Grants

The Community Grants Program supports projects designed to help prevent poverty by better preparing children and youth to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Such projects will "help children help themselves" through educational, leadership, mentoring, recreational, cultural and other activities.

Lawn Care Rebate Program

Kentuckiana Air Education (KAIRE), the outreach network of the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District, is offering residents of Louisville a cash incentive of up to $100 to trade in gas-powered lawn care equipment for more environmentally friendly electric or reel mowers, and other selected equipment, in its Lawn Care Rebate Program.
